On the nose, this wine displays aromas of pineapple, quince and honeysuckle, with hints of nutmeg and toast. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with flavours of green apple, pear, and lemon zest. Crisp acidity and a hint of salinity are balanced by notes of toasted spices on the finish.

The vineyards for this Chardonnay are located throughout the southern part of the Truchard Estate. These sites benefit from the various marine soils, gently sloped terrain, and cooler conditions that make the Carneros region ideal for growing Chardonnay. They produce aromatic wines with tropical fruit characteristics and a unique spicy element. The vines are between 27 and 49 years old, resulting in excellent concentration.

A pioneer of the Los Carneros AVA, Tony Truchard’s story is one of remarkable perseverance and foresight. At a time when the area was largely overlooked, he recognised the potential Carneros had to produce remarkable cool climate wines. Today, Truchard’s vineyards, spanning the foothills of the Mayacamas mountains and Mount Veeder, are emblematic of the region and one of the few Carneros sites capable of perfectly ripening Cabernet Sauvignon.
