Terrazze dell'Etna Cinniri Etna Bianco

Region: Sicily, Italy

Vintage: 2024

Bottle size: 75cl

Grape: Carricante

ABV: 12.5%

Intense straw yellow in colour with green hues, this wine shows aromas of ripe yellow fruit alongside elegant smoky notes. The palate is fresh and structured, developing layers of ripe fruit character and complexity through to a long finish.

The vineyards are located in the municipality of Randazzo on the north-western slopes of Mount Etna, at altitudes of 550–600 metres above sea level. The vines are approximately 10 years old and are trained using both the traditional Etna bush vine and Guyot systems. The volcanic soils are rich in structure and originate from the breakdown of ancient lava flows. Vine density is 6,000 vines per hectare, with yields of approximately eight tonnes per hectare.

The grapes were harvested during the third week of October. Following a short period of skin contact in the press, the fruit was gently pressed, with a must yield of approximately 55%. The wine was aged on its fine lees with regular bâtonnage for one year, followed by a further year of bottle ageing prior to release.

Sicilian native Antonio Bevilacqua, an engineer by trade, founded Terrazze dell’Etna in 2008 with the aim of revitalising and restoring the abandoned terraced vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna to produce some of Sicily's finest wines.
