Complex aromas of green apple, hay and herbaceous notes are underpinned by remarkable minerality. Textured and full flavoured with a wonderful fluency and a rich energy on the finish.

This Malbec comes from the highest area of the traditional Lujan de Cuyo, Las Compuertas, a small terroir located at 1100 masl. It is made with grapes coming from a single vineyard that was planted in 1927 ungrafted. The soils are alluvial, sandy and clay loamy, one meter high with a gravel and boulder subsoil that sometimes appears on the surface and where traditional flood irrigation is maintained.

Matías Riccitelli was born in Cafayate, Salta, a charming village in northern Argentina where wine is lived and breathed. A tireless traveler and dreamer, Matías trained as a winemaker in one of Argentina’s most prestigious wineries. After traveling the world through multiple harvests, gaining experience and anecdotes, he decided to blend everything he learned throughout his career with the teachings of his mentor and father, Jorge Riccitelli. Thus, in 2009, Riccitelli Wines was born. The winery is located in Las Compuertas, in the highest area of the traditional Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, at 1,100 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l.).
