This wine is ample with rich flavour paired with excellent acidity. The flavours are concentrated with a fine balance.

The grapes for this wine are grown in one of the best "village" vineyards areas in all of Chassagne Montrachet. The Les Chaumes vines are idelly located along the shouth border of the Morgeot Premier Cru area on a gentle, southeast facing slope. The soils are shallow and comprised of clay developing ample wines with excellent concentration.

The fruit was hand harvested and completely destemmed upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation took place using only indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged for 12-18 months on it's lees in a mixture of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

Caroline Lestimé runs her famed family estate, Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard, in the heart of Chassagne Montrachet and also makes her own ‘negociant’ wines in the domaine’s cellars. She proudly labels these with her own name, as she became tired of being asked whether her brother or another male relative make the Jean-Noël Gagnard wines. These are negociant wines only in the sense that Caroline doesn’t own the vineyards she produces them from. However, she manages them herself and personally makes all the wines, giving them the same stamp of individuality as those of Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard. Caroline’s exceptional wines across both domaines have cemented her as one of Burgundy’s great winemakers.
