The colour is intense. The bouquet is open reminding of wild blackberries, dried prunes and blackcurrant. It will then with age develop more earthy scents.
This vineyard is east-south oriented in the village of Chenôve. The soils are dark brown, dry and contain marls and clay with stones and gravels helping for a good drainage. The Clos du Roy vineyard may be the first parcel to get the premier cru appellation in the near future. Marsannay is the most recent appellation contrôlée of Burgundy (1987). It is the only village which produces all colours: red, white and rose.
Maison Louis Jadot’s story can’t be reduced to a simple list of dates. It is, above all, a summary of moments, meetings and an overall philosophy, all based on one simple vision: to maintain the grandeur of Burgundy’s great terroirs for all time.
