This rosé has a delightful pink hue and opens on a aromas of summer berries and sweet pea. It has excellent concentration and the charming red-fruit profile is lifted by a crisp, mouthwatering freshness.

The vines are located on clay-limestone terraces that overlook the Étang de Thau - the largest of a string of lagoons that stretch along the French coast from the Rhône River to the foothills of the Pyrenees. They enjoy a Mediterranean climate, tempered by maritime influences. These cooling coastal breezes, coupled with the sunny, warm climate, ensure that the grapes ripen with the optimum balance between ripe fruit flavours and freshness and aromatics. The grapes are both machine and hand-harvested.

Skin-contact maceration lasted for several hours during the filling phase of the pneumatic press. The deeper pink colour is the result of the very warm growing season which produced small and concentrated berries. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours at 8°C, followed by a lengthy and slow fermentation under strict temperature-controlled conditions (15° C). The wine is unoaked and did not go through malolactic fermentation.

The Vignes de L’Eglise wines are made exclusively for Liberty Wines by Matt Thomson of Blank Canvas and talented winemaker Marguerite Vasseur, at the Cave de Pomérols co-operative in the Picpoul de Pinet region.
