Inky red in colour, with youthful crimson hues. Aromas of fresh red berries, riper blackcurrent notes, hints of leaf and mint all meld seamlessly together, seductively supported classy French oak spices. On the palate the Tregea Reserve is textured yet taut with a linear palate, the noble flavours of cassis, tobacco leaf, nuances of liquorice and lively red berries all superbly combine, further enhanced and fleshed out by the wines lively acidity and fine grained tannins; a Reserve wine made for the ages.
Named after the original owner of the Kilikanoon Cellar Door property John Tregea, our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of fruit grown on the cooler Cellar Door site. This is complimented with fruit from the warmer vineyards at the Kilikanoon winery in Leasingham.
Winemaker and proprietor Kevin Mitchell purchased the property of the same name in the hamlet of Penwortham in South Australia's picturesque Clare Valley. Hailing from a long line of wine grape growers, Kevin now had the opportunity to turn the vision of creating his own wine brand into a reality.
