Golden in color, with rose gold glints, it offers aromas of cherries, plums and roses. The ageing notes come from brioche and toasted hazelnut. Creamy on the palate, the bubbles are happy and fresh. A mineral note closes the whole.
After manual harvesting, the grapes went through the sorting table before entering the press by gravity. They collected 52% of the extraction and the fractions were meticulously separated. The must fermented in French oak barrels of 300 litres of various uses, at a temperature of 14 °C, to obtain a fresh, elegant base wine with a firm skeleton, always taking care of the balance between aromatic expressiveness and tannin, and after pressing, Argent Rosé is aged in rhyme for more than 18 months.
In 1850 Josep Batlle was working as a winemaker and grower for a family who owned the vineyards in La Plana, in the Anoia River valley. When phylloxera was ravaging the vineyards of France and much of Europe, Josep Batlle’s son, Pau, set about selling wine to the French sparkling wine producers, who knew the Catalonia region well, as it was their main cork supplier at the time. Using the Xarel·lo as a base, Pau learnt how to refine his own wines for this purpose. This led to him setting up his own winery, Cellar Battle, in 1881 and enabled him to buy the vineyards that his father used to work
