The vineyards are located in Almansa in the eastern corner of Castilla La Mancha. Winemaker Dennis Verdecchia was drawn to the region’s wealth of low-yielding, old bush vines. The vines are planted between 700 and 1150 metres above sea level on sandy clay soils with a high limestone content. The wide diurnal range results in the gentle ripening of the grapes, producing elegant wines characterised by bright fruit and aromatics. The vines benefit from a southeast exposure and are planted using a combination of traditional bush vines and modern trellised systems, with a density of 4,000 to 5,000 vines per hectare.
The grapes were harvested at night to ensure they arrived at the winery at low temperatures, preserving freshness and protecting the must from oxidation. Following gentle pressing, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 15°C over approximately 25 days, enhancing aromatic expression and structure. The wine then underwent light clarification and stabilisation, followed by filtration prior to bottling to preserve its full organoleptic character.
