This wine has an intense nose with aromas of ripe blackberry, lavender and pepper. On the palate, well-defined fruit is complemented by silky tannins and juicy acidity.
The grapes for this Côte-du-Rhône Villages are sourced from a six hectare vineyard in the village of Séguret, northeast of Gigondas. The site is located at 200 metres above sea level and planted on sand and clay soils, which results in an excellent balance of freshness and concentration. The Grenache vines are around 50 years old and the Syrah vines are 20 to 40 years old, producing remarkable intensity.
Described by Jeb Dunnuck as “the Chambolle Musigny of the Rhône”, Domaine des Bosquets is today run by Julien Bréchet. Since taking over the family domaine in 2006, Julien has made a name for himself as one of the rising stars of Gigondas, with Josh Raynolds asserting that Julien “has quickly climbed to the top tier of not just the Gigondas quality ladder, but that of the whole Rhône Valley
