The wine is a beautiful pale yellow in colour with silver reflections. The nose is elegant with pronounced aromas of lime, grapefruit and pear. Citrus fruit flavours burst in the mouth, complimented by a refreshing acidity.

Cave de Hunawihr’s fruit is sourced from 25-year-old vines grown in vineyards located at an altitude 250-320 metres which run along the south and south-east facing hillside slopes around the village. The vineyards cover an area of 36 hectares, located on a geological fault line across Ribeauvillé, on soils composed of clay limestone and marl with overlying chalk gravel.

Cave de Hunawihr is a co-operative in Alsace, which was founded in 1954 in an attempt to re-establish winemaking in a territory that suffered greatly during World War Two. Today, Hunawihr has grown to 110 members and is equipped with a renovated winery and 200 hectares of vineyards, 80% of which are situated in Hunawihr and its surroundings, Riquewihr and Zellenberg. The Grand Cru holdings amount to 13 hectares and include Rosacker, Froehn, Sporen, Schoenenbourg and Osterberg.
