This blend of Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese is ruby red in colour, with aromas of red berries and Mediterranean flowers. The palate is round and smooth, with soft tannins and spicy cherry notes on the finish.

This wine is produced from selected grapes grown in two different vineyards: one near Marsala and one in the centre of Sicily. Maceration and fermentation took place in 500 litre temperature controlled stainless-steel vats. The must was macerated on the skins over a period of four to five days at a controlled temperature. The wine then remained on its lees for a month before bottling.

The Borgo Selene wines are made and blended by acclaimed winemaker and consultant Alberto Antonini, at the Curatolo Arini family winery. ‘Borgo Selene’ takes its name from the Greek goddess of the moon, referencing the influence that the Greeks, who first brought vines to Sicily, have had on the Mediterranean’s largest island.
