Straw yellow colour almost golden. The mouthfeel is round, harmonious; with intense savoury and acidity notes, that guarantees a great freshness pleasure to the end
Macigno del Chianti, soil commonly called Arenarie, composed by sands and rocks, well drained and furnished with little organic matter. Destemmed and softly pressed grapes are vinified with the skins in terracotta amphorae, at a controlled temperature of 14°C (57.2°F), for up to three months. 12 months: 40% in amphorae, 30% in stainless steel vats and the remaining 30% in two and three-year old barriques.
Established in the Chianti Classico region at the Castello di Brolio in 1141, Barone Ricasoli is one of the four oldest wine estates in the world. With a history that dates back nearly a thousand years the story of Ricasoli has, not surprisingly, become closely interwoven with that of the region.
