Deep purple in colour. Extraordinary fresh on the nose, showing lovely aromas of violet and wild berry fruit. The palate is elegant and evolves into a wine that offers excellent volume and a solid structure made of lively and fine-textured tannins. This is an appealing wine that finishes with great balance, freshness and persistence.
The grapes, coming from the best Touriga Nacional plots of Quinta do Crasto. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels that have been specially designed to give lightly toasted notes and to bring out the freshness and aromas characteristic of Touriga Nacional. It is essential during aging that the wood not be allowed to overshadow the natural characteristics of the grape
Located in a prime spot in the Douro Demarcated Region in Northern Portugal, Quinta do Crasto has been in the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for more than a century. Like all the other great Douro estates, Quinta do Crasto dates far back into ancient times. The name Crasto comes from the Latin castrum meaning “Roman fort”.
