This wine reveals lifted aromas of white peach, pear and melon, alongside hints of wild herbs and brioche. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with crisp acidity balanced by silky texture and layered notes of exotic spices.

Produced from ungrafted (pie franco) vines, the vineyards span various plots on volcanic soils across northern Tenerife, situated on west-facing slopes at around 200 metres above sea level. Vines are pruned using the traditional ‘rastra’ method, trained low to the ground and allowed to sprawl across the soil—a technique well-suited to the island’s climate, offering natural protection against strong seasonal winds.

Grapes were hand-harvested and carefully transported in 18-kilogram boxes to preserve fruit integrity. At the winery, bunches underwent a second selection before gentle pneumatic pressing. Alcoholic fermentation took place naturally with indigenous yeasts in 500-litre Austrian oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine remains on its lees for 10 months, developing complexity and refined texture, before bottling.

Ocampo is the new Tenerife project from Jonatan García Lima, the winemaker behind two of the Canary Islands’ most respected estates: Bodegas Tamerán and Suertes del Marqués. Jonatan is a leading light and part of a new generation of Canarian winemakers preserving the islands’ rich heritage of ancient vineyards, indigenous varieties and traditional practices.
