The wine displays intense aromas of cherries and juicy red fruit, with hints of violet and rose. On the palate, it is tight and structured with cherry notes, fine tannins and a persistent finish.
Grapes for this wine are sourced in the 1.5-hectare vineyard near the Frazione Annunziata, in the commune of La Morra. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 220-260 metres above sea level, with a south/south west exposure. Soils are mainly calcareous and clayey. The vines are between 7-15 years-old and Guyot pruned.
The Corino family have farmed land in La Morra since the 1950s, originally coming to the region as ‘mezzadri’, or sharecroppers. Yet it wasn’t until Giuliano Corino took over from his grandfather Giovanni in the 1980s that the Corino name became synonymous with some of La Morra’s finest Nebbiolo. Having originally sold their fruit, Giuliano was determined to start making and bottling his own wine from his family's vines.
