The colour is intense garnet red; the scent is generally very open with floral hints, of ripe fruit, and some spicy notes. In the mouth you can feel the majestic structure of a firm, dry and velvety wine.
Barolo Mosconi is obtained with the pure vinification of the oldest vineyard belonging to the homonymous property located in Monforte d'Alba. The terrain is typically Helvetian of older formation. They are clayey calcareous marls with a coloration that tends slightly to gray, which alternate with siliceous sandstones. In some areas the presence of calcium carbonate and iron gives a warmer color note and a slight tendency to pink. These soils, located at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level, give great structure and typical characteristics of Barolo from long aging.
Located in the municipality of Barolo and the cellar overlooks the square where via Monforte and via Vittorio Veneto (the so-called Via Nuova) intersect. From here, observing the hills, you can imagine how much work is needed to maintain such steep land like well-kept gardens and obtain from their generosity these grapes of unparalleled quality. Only grapes from vineyards cultivated by them and which are, almost entirely, own property vinified.
