Ceretto Barbaresco

Region: Piemonte, Italy

Vintage: 2017

Bottle size: 75cl

Grape: Nebbiolo

ABV: 14%

Ruby-red in color with garnet highlights. Aromas of dried cherries and rose petals are complemented by undertones of violets, licorice, vanilla, and spices. On the palate, this wine is medium-bodied and rich with flavors of tart cherries, rose petals, and hints of truffles with a long, impressive finish.

The grapes are sourced from multiple vineyards across the appellation, as was common before the movement to single-vineyard bottlings. Ceretto Barbaresco DOCG is a classic wine, intended to be like those from the turn of the century, when the concept of ‘cru’ was totally unknown to the region’s winemakers. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, the wine is aged for 24 months in barriques and barrels to round and soften the tannins in the wine.

In the late 80s the Ceretto family found an old farmstead in the outskirts of Alba, and gradually transformed it into its main offices. This estate, known as Monsordo Bernardina and historically linked to the love story between Vittorio Emanuele II and the beautiful Rosina, within a few years became the main hub of the company; here we carry out not only the activities associated with the production and refinement of some of the most important wine labels, but also the administrative and commercial activities, offices and warehouse. There are more than 30 hectares of vineyards that surround the farmstead, both traditional and international varieties, all grown under strong principles of environmental sustainability. Tradition at the house of Ceretto rhymes with innovation and here under creative forces, in 2009, The Grape (l’Acino) was created, a permanent installation overlooking the beautiful vineyards, which complements the modern space to welcome guests and promote the region.
