Showing all the hallmarks of a classic Florita Riesling of immense purity, this is bursting with intense notes of lime and lemon juice underpinned by wet slate. The mineral backbone is framed with citrus rind and moreish sorbet, on this elegant and textured palate with beautiful balance.

The famed Florita Vineyard is synonymous with the classic grape variety and was planted with Riesling grapes by Leo Buring in 1962. In 1986, the Barry family acquired the 32 hectare property. Florita' is Spanish for 'little flower' and the first release of this micro-batch of premium Riesling was in 2004; it was the fruit of years of patience. Individual rows are selected where the terra rossa and loam soils barely cover the deep limestone below and the vines deliver a wonderful elegance.

In 1964 Jim Barry, and his wife Nancy, purchased 70 acres of prime farmland from their friend and neighbour, Duncan McRae Wood. On this special site they planted their first Shiraz vineyard. The McRae Wood Shiraz is made from grapes declassified from The Armagh and blended with fruit from special parcels from the family’s other Clare Valley vineyards.  Rich and intense, it was considered a modern and innovative style of wine, when it was first released in 1992. It was Jim Barry’s drive and community spirit that helped shape South Australia’s Clare Valley as a benchmark producer of world class Riesling and cemented its place as one of Australia’s premier wine regions.
