A deeply alluring colour draws you in to a bouquet rich in red berry with a hint of spice. Red currants, plum and a hint of liquorish layer the palate. Rich, generous and structured Shiraz that will always be undeniably forward.
This shiraz is a result of a very intricate blending process. Each parcel of fruit is individually vilified & aged for 18 months in specially selected French oak barrels, 38% of which are new, the final blend is created with careful consideration to allow the wine to cellar gracefully, retaining its freshness and balance for many years.
Turkey Flat is the local name for the vineyard property and is believed to be named by the original settlers in the late 1840s after the large flocks of native bush turkeys in the area. It was here that the first Shiraz vines were planted in 1847, propagating from cuttings from Hermitage Hill in the Rhône Valley in the 1830s and still remaining a productive part of Turkey Flats vineyards today.
