The vineyards are located between 700 and 950 metres above sea level and benefit from a wide diurnal range at this elevation. Soils are a complex patchwork of clay, limestone, sand and gravel and the vineyards are farmed following organic practices.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUpon arrival at the winery, the hand-harvested Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes were destemmed and crushed. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine was racked off the skins and transferred to French and American oak barrels for four months ageing before the final blend was assembled and bottled.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eViña Mayor is located on Ribera del Duero’s famous ‘Golden Mile’, just a stone's throw from Vega Sicilia. Founded in 1986, it was the first winery in Ribera del Duero to achieve ‘Wineries for Climate Protection' certification, thanks to its ambitious approach to regenerative viticulture. This has included restoring the natural biodiversity of their vineyards by reintroducing many rare species of native flora and fauna.
