On the palate the wine is crisp and clean, with a mouthwatering acidity carrying the flavours onto the fresh finish.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Verdejo and Viura grapes for the 'Basa' are sourced from vineyards near the Rueda villages of La Seca, Serrada, Pozaldez and Foncastín. The high plateau here is at 700 - 870 metres elevation and the vines benefit from a wide diurnal range with cool nights counteracting the heat of the days. Soils are gravelly with a high limestone content, imparting a marked minerality on the wines. The vines are cordon trained on trellises and harvesting is carried out both by hand and by machine.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUpon arrival at the winery, the Verdejo and Viura grapes were gently pressed and the must was left to settle then racked off the sediments. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness.
