The site is surrounded by large pine trees and wild herbs. The Garnacha Blanca and Pedro Ximenes vines were planted in 1962 and Macabeo in 1980. Soil is black slate called “Licorella”. The viticulture is organic and follows the Lunar calendar.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis seven hectare property has been in the Ferrando family for 150 years. Today viticulture, winemaking and blending are overseen by Jordi Masdeu Català, a young Spaniard who spent time selling wine in London, and Alessandro Marchesan. Their shared passion for old Garnacha and Cariñena vines led them to the famous slate, or 'Llicorella' soils of Priorat.
