It is full-bodied and well-balanced, with soft tannins and a spicy finish.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe grapes for this wine come from flat-lying vineyards around the Puglia hills, near to the sea, planted at altitudes no higher than 100 metres above sea level. The Guyot-trained vines are planted in low vigour soils that are rich in limestone. The grapes were hand picked to ensure careful selection.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGrapes were picked by hand and then crushed, before fermentation took place at low temperatures to retain freshness. The tank was checked daily to ensure the amount of tannin extraction was right.
