Jean-Claude Boisset Pommard 2015
Region: Côte de Nuits , Burgundy, France
Vintage: 2015
Bottle size: 75cl

The wine is ruby red with purple hues. On the nose it exudes aromas of blackcurrant and black fruit, with a hint of minerality. On the palate, this elegant and fresh wine reveals ample tannins.
Pommard has over 300 hectares under vine and lies between Beaune and Volnay, where the Côte de Beaune makes a slight turn towards Autun. The fruit for Grégory's Pommard is sourced from two plots, 'En Brescul', which is to the north of the appellation on a steep, east-facing hillside with predominantly limestone soils, and 'La Combotte', which is situated on the mid-slope on clay soils, just above the Premier Cru 'Les Rugiens'. The vines are 41 years old and a Guyot trained.
Jean-Claude Boisset is a family-owned wine company founded in 1961. Jean-Claude’s first parcel of land was located in Gevrey-Chambertin and today the company is based in Les Ursulines, a former convent in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and run by his children Jean-Charles and Nathalie. In 2018, they opened a new state-of-the-art winery, which reflects their modern, technical approach to winemaking. The wines have been made by Grégory Patriat since 2002. He previously worked as head viticulturalist and assistant winemaker at the legendary Domaine Leroy, and has brought a detailed, vineyard-led approach to Jean-Claude Boisset
