On the palate, it is medium-bodied, silky and long.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe grapes for this wine come from 20+ year old MV6 vines that are dry grown on the Syme on Yarra vineyard at Seville, in the upper Yarra Valley. The vineyard sits on an eastern-facing slope, on a heavy clay subsoil with a silty clay loam top.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003eThe grapes were handpicked and sorted at the winery. 20% of the fruit that went into the fermentation tank was whole bunch. After spending 20 days on skins, with several gentle punch downs, the wine was aged for 10 months in 300-litre French barriques (10% new) before being reassembled in tank. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eJane Eyre first made wines under her own, eponymous label in Australia in 2012, making three barrels of a Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula. At that time, she was already making exceptional wines in Burgundy as a micro-negociant and now splits her year, making wine in both hemispheres. Australian journalist Nick Stock accurately describes Jane as “a thoughtful and determined winemaker, with clear ideas about the style of Pinot Noir she likes.
