Tupungato is the northernmost sub-region of the Uco Valley in Mendoza and these grapes were harvested at 1,200 metres above sea level. The fruit benefits from large diurnal temperature variations and is rich in natural resources, including good access to fresh water.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003eAll grapes were hand harvested. After gentle crushing, the must was transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation, which took approximately 20 days at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. He purchased property in Barrancas (southern Maipú) and planted vines on rocky, well-drained plots along the Mendoza River. It was Sami’s son Isaac who first began to make fine wine at the estate.
