This old-vine chardonnay has aromas of white nectarine, peach and a subtle hint of tropical fruit on the nose. The minerality from the chalky soils shines through on the palate, alongside great concentration and fresh acidity with hints of lemon zest on the long finish.
Domaine la Soufrandise is located in Fuissé, in the centre of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. They have seven hectares of vineyards (six in Pouilly-Fuissé and one in Macon-Fuissé), which are spread over 30 different parcels, over half of which are more than 45 years old. This arrangement provides Nicolas with multiple options for blending his flagship Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes. The vines are planted on limestone-clay soil, which lends both power and bright acidity to the wines.
