The nose is very expressive and complex with a distinct minerality followed by aromas of ripe peach and nectarine. The palate is fresh and fruity with a rich and well balanced mid-palate. The grapes were destemmed and gently crushed before being cooled, followed by a gentle pressing. Fermentation took place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, and the wine was kept on fine lees for additional freshness before being bottled the following spring.

Located near Pézenas, halfway between the Massif Central and the Mediterranean Sea, Domaine de Castelnau Garenne comprises a 160-hectare estate that benefits from fresh sea breezes, preserving acidity and freshness in the grapes. It is owned by Christophe Muret, who, like Yves Ricome of La Croix Gratiot, was a melon farmer before he began growing grapes in 1997. The word ‘Garenne’ in the domaine’s name references the wild rabbits Christophe would see in his vines when he first started as a vigneron. Thankfully, these are a rarer sight these days, but they still remind him of his winemaking journey.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0506/5405/2509/files/DomainedeCastelnauGarenneSauvignonBlancIGPPaysd_Oc.png?v=1788514501
https://www.londonendwines.com/products/domaine-de-castelnau-garenne-sauvignon-blanc-igp-pays-doc-2025
