This Gevrey Chambertin has powerful notes of cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry underpinned by notes of clove and liquorice. On the palate, this wine is layered with rich fruit balanced by precise acidity and firm tannins and a long elegant finish.
The Gevrey-Chambertin is sourced from 15 different parcels in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines are planted on clay and limestone soil and are Guyot pruned. The Domaine practices 'la lutte-raisonée' so the vineyards are monitored continuously throughout the year and are tended to by hand in order to keep the amount of required treatments to a minimum.
Domaine Claude Dugat, established in 1955, is widely considered one of the top producers in Gevrey-Chambertin. It is a small family-run domaine, with founders Claude and Marie-Thérèse’s children – son Bertrand and daughters Laetitia and Jeanne – having taken over the running of the six hectare estate.
