The palate is medium bodied and refreshing, with firm structure but appealing lemon and stone fruit intensity to round the finish, along with gentle spice and vanilla complexity.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLadoix sits at the foot of the famous hill of Corton, just to the north of the town of Beaune. The south-easterly facing vineyards lie on chalky-clay soils and the vines are on average 15 years old.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFermentation took place over 6-12 weeks in French oak barrels before the wine spent further months ageing in barrel prior to fining and filtering. Émile’s daughter Marcelle and his son-in-law Émile Chevalier inherited the estate after the First World War. Today, Claude Chevalier, the grandson of Émile, heads up the domaine, with his two daughters Julie and Chloé working alongside him. Chloé is now responsible for the winemaking although Claude is still very much present at the domaine.
