In the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin is the area with the highest concentration of red Grands Crus of which the legendary Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze, great favorites of Napoleon. It is even said that the Emperor made his men salute when passing by these venerable vines. Les Cazetiers is one of most reputed in the appellation. In the 1855 classification is was ranked alongside Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze
Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, perpetuating tradition for nearly 3 centuries and 9 generations. This desire to build up an exceptional estate in Côte d’Or endured through the generations and acquisitions in the best Villages were added throughout the 19th century and again in the early 20th century.
