Aubert Et Mathieu Marie Antoinette Corbieres 2020
Region: Corbieres, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Bottle size: 75cl
Grape: Grenache 60% and Syrah 40%
Savoury nose. Toasted flavours of walnuts and rye sourdough and tamari. A really umami wine with the salty, sharp tang of umeboshi (fermentd) plums. Rustic tannins and a firm, full finish.
Altitude’s vineyard of clay and limestone is used to produce grapes for this characterful wine. The vineyard is currently converting to Organic cerification. Traditionally vinified and then aged in concrete vats for 6 months.
Two friends since school, set out to create a range of wines in their own image. Natives of Languedoc Roussillon, they want to shake the vines of their origine region by bringing a touch of originality and modernity to their cuvées. Created in 2018, they are part of an eco-conscious approach, more transparent and more sustainable. This commitment is evident from the vine to the bottle with organic cuvées or in conversion.
