On the nose, it is full of blackberries, redcurrants and dried herbs which are typical of Cannonau. The concentration of fruit continues on the palate and marries with a good tannin structure.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe vines are grown on south-east facing vineyards at altitudes up to 500 metres above sea level, maximising exposure to sunlight. Soils are mostly schistous and calcareous. The vines are 30 years old on average, trained to the Guyot system and planted to a density of 4,500 plants per hectare.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFermentation took place in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel vats. Ageing took place in a combination of stainless steel and 10 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAntichi Poderi Jerzu is a cooperative winery based in the village of Jerzu, within the historical Ogliastra region on Sardinia’s east coast. The cooperative was founded in 1950 by the village doctor, Josto Miglior, who convinced 45 grape growers to join forces to produce better wine.
