The Quintaluna is made up of 60% prephylloxera vines which contribute a complexity not normally associated with the variety. Gone is the obvious tropical notes normally associated with the variety and instead you can find cleaner aromatics of white flowers, stoned fruit and beautiful green nuances. A crisp glass perfectly pairs with shellfish, oysters or spicy dragon roll.

Quintaluna grapes were harvested by hand. After passing through the selection table, they were destemmed and gently pressed. The fermentation took place in small stainless Steel vats with native yeasts. For nine months, the wine remained in the same tanks on its lees and other elaboration in casks and barrels.

Spain's classic cult white wine, Bodegas Ossian was the brainchild of Ismael Gonzalo whose unique mind first detected the uniqueness of the terroir of Nieva. Whilst the vineyards lie in the political boundary of DO Rueda, the wine is declassified to reflect quite how distinct it is from the rolling slopes and homogenous winegrowing of the majority of the region. Instead, Nieva is home to pine forests interspersed with ancient tiny vineyard parcels planed to what can only be described as beach sand. These poorest of soils encourage the vines to ripen verdejo grapes like no other area in the world with a complexity and minerality not normally associated with the region. Maintained organically, Quintaluna comes from different parcels of both prephyloxxeric and ancient vineyards all trained in Gobelet. With the consultation of Rafa Palacios between 2015 and 2020 the baton was passed to superstar winemaker of the year 2019, Almudena Calvo who now oversees the project for the Carraovjas family of wineries.
