Glowing and intense colour. Polished, refined, focused and expressive, with notes of eucalyptus, pepper and pine. A typical notes of the local Mediterranean bushes and berries rise from the glass. Fine-grained tannins surround a sleek core of black cherry, blackberry and liquorice flavours, with nice fresh nuances gliding through a long and expressive finish. The harmony between vibrant acidity and refined tannins is approachable now but will also age gracefully.

The Gaja tradition started in 1859 in Piedmont. Five generations of the Gaja family have nurtured and built on the dreams of the previous generation. In 1937 Giovanni Gaja took over the reins of the company and it was at this time the labels changed presenting the famous Gaja name first and foremost on the label as we see it today. Ca’Marcanda – Bolgheri is the birthplace of modern Italian wine – where new world meets old. A perfect home for 5th generation Gaja to continue to innovate.
